✨🎶 HEAR YE! HEAR YE! 🎶✨ Magical Starli ✨🎶 HEAR YE! HEAR YE! 🎶✨ Magical Starlight Theatre is holding Auditions for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center. Callbacks, by invitation only, will be held Tuesday, October 8th. Lead and supporting roles are available for all ages, and a strong ensemble cast comprised of actors of all ages will be needed. Youth must be in fourth grade/9 years old and above. Sign up for an audition time slot and view audition materials and detailed information at magicalstarlight.org Performances will run January 10-12 and 17-21, 2025 at Naperville Central High School. Come have a ball with us as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary Season!
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 ALLISON FOSDI 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 ALLISON FOSDICK (Publicity) rejoined the magical world of theatre in 2014 with MST's production of “Peter Pan” after years dedicated to her growing family. This will be her 10th MST show, and she couldn't be more delighted to be a part of it! In addition to occasionally indulging in her favorite pastime of "playing" onstage, Allison is a part time English professor (most recently at North Central College), a district 204 school board member, the happy wife of a fellow Naperville Central alum, and proud mother to two adult "children" and two teenagers. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? Allison's favorite MST memory is flying high above the stage as the blue butterfly in “Tarzan”--there's nothing like it! DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? Allison has a special knack for creating nicknames for friends and family (kids' current "names" are Wicious, Moois, Googis, and Chita)
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 JOHN DIENDORF 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 JOHN DIENDORF (House Manager) is a 20 year Naperville resident with his teenage boys and lab named Jake. John is a dedicated theater parent behind the scenes and recently made his acting debut alongside his son in a Theater for Charity production of “High School Musical”. The theater community brings so much joy as a spectator and he can appreciate the joy and hardwork of being on the stage! He is thrilled to be the House Manager for the third year in a row for Magical Starlight Theatre. He enjoys assisting the cast and crew along with every guest to create a magical experience for all. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? When the boys were young, John took them to see MST's production of “Tarzan” and they were selected by Hector, the magical Wizard, to receive a signed copy of the book. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? John never loses a thumb war!
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 ROSANNE MCCAL 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 ROSANNE MCCALLION (Props Design) I have always enjoyed the Theatre but usually as a patron, with my favorites being “Evita” and “Phantom of the Opera”. When my youngest daughter got involved with Naper Settlement, NCHS Musicals and Theatre Central, I volunteered as much as possible in any capacity. While doing that I had the pleasure to meet some of the MST family. From then on, I was blessed to be a part of many of the MST shows! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? These are a few of my favorite things! The camaraderie of the cast and crew of “Shrek” was electrifying! As well as the 3 Fiona's growing up in the tower! “Step in time” Chimney Sweep Dance from “Mary Poppins” was unbelievable! Horton and Jojo's duet in “Seussical”, “Alone in the Universe”, was heartwarming! The Beast's tear jerking solo in the West Wing from last year's performance of “Beauty and the Beast”! DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? Still waiting to find something!
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 KELLY MAHONEY 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 KELLY MAHONEY (House Manager) lives in Naperville with two teenage boys that love the theater! She is a dedicated theater mama supporting MST, Paramount Theater, and Theater for Charity. She is passionate about serving the theater community and the joy it brings all patrons. She is thrilled to be the House Manager alongside her husband, John Diendorf, this year. We love providing every guest a comfortable and magical experience before, during, and after the show! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? So hard to pick just one memory. MST has given our boys confidence, courage, and community. We are forever grateful! DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? Kelly can play the viola.
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 DIANE LINK (H 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 DIANE LINK (Hair and Make-up Design) Beginning with a childhood passion for choir in grade school, throughout my life I have had a never-ending love for both music and theatre. My love grew stronger and stronger with each musical or theatrical stage performance during the years. For the past 20+ years I have found an outlet for my creative energy by working backstage in Hair and Make-up Design. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? So many!! Hearing the awe in my mom’s voice after seeing Peter Pan FLY! – and then later very much wishing she was around to see our Olivia fly as Turk. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? Nothing hidden – I’m a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of gal.
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 JEREMY LYON ( 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 JEREMY LYON (Sound Design) is excited to return to Magical Starlight Theatre for another enchanting production. “Cinderella” marks his 11th MST show, following his recent work on “Beauty and the Beast”. Jeremy studied technical theatre at College of DuPage and has designed for Summer Place Theatre and Up and Coming Theatre. He also previously worked with both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando in various roles. Jeremy is thrilled to bring “Cinderella” to life with MST's talented cast and crew. He enjoys spending time with friends and having fun working towards a shared goal. The technical challenges are always different but the reward of seeing the audience reactions is always the same. When he’s not backstage, he is a network engineer for a large financial company. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? There's sooo many good ones, it's been hard to choose just one so here's a brief list: • Trying to keep the followspot on Stuart singing Candyman during 1999's “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” - watching all the kids in the audience standing up every time he'd say "Candy". • Between shows, playing board games with the rest of the crew during 2000's “Sleeping Beauty”. • I really enjoyed hearing the audience's reactions to Belle in her gold dress last year. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? I can tell you more about vintage banjos than one should even care to know - that and ukuleles. I've played both for over 25 years. That and I still have the Jungle Cruise spiel from Walt Disney World memorized and it's been 20 years since I last drove a boat in circles. Don't get me started talking about theme parks - I won't stop. I've driven boats in circles (Jungle Cruise), worked in spooky hotels (Tower of Terror), sent railcars off in ancient Egypt (Revenge of the Mummy), became a galaxy defender (Men In Black: Alien Attack), a production assistant for a music company (Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit), and a security guard at Cyberdyne Systems (Terminator 2:3D Battle Across Time) among other things.
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 LEIGH APPLE ( 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 LEIGH APPLE (Assistant Music/Vocal Director) • MST Assistant Music Director, 2016-present • Marching Band Assistant, Oswego High School, 2014-present • Various Roles including Marching Arts Visual & Brass Staff, Visual Designer, Assistant Director, 1985-present • Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, 1985, 1986 • Educator, Oswego District 308, 2005-present • National Board Certification, 2009 WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? Choreographing and teaching “stage drill” for “Precision and Order” for MST’s “Mary Poppins” in 2016. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? Sorry, no.
📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 KATHY WILHELM 📣 MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM 📣 KATHY WILHELM (Publicity) made her Magical Starlight debut on stage in “Beauty and the Beast” last season and enjoyed every minute! She is excited to be joining the production team to promote “Cinderella” and would be delighted to join the cast again this season. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Millikin University, where she also studied Voice. She most recently performed in Theater for Charity’s “High School Musical” where she also served as a Dance Captain for the show. Kathy enjoys singing, dancing, reading, taking a variety of fitness classes and spending time with her two children and husband. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MST MEMORY? Being part of the “Beauty and the Beast” production last season was transformative. It was the first time in 25 years since I had last performed in a musical, and I made the decision that I needed to return to something that brought me joy. At our first rehearsal and sing-through, I felt an incredible swell of emotion and found myself blinking back tears several times while singing with such a talented group of men, women and children. We not only worked together as a cast and crew to create something beautiful to present to the audience, we created lasting friendships. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS? I can do a headstand for probably a minute. I have a knack for making animal noises - I can neigh like a horse, do a turkle gobble and coo like a pigeon. I also had a blast as a dancer on “America’s Got Talent” in the Season 6 Semifinals - however, I was “hidden” performing in a skull mask with goat horns!
