UGH... Aren't Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood the WORST?!? UGH... Aren't Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood the WORST?!?

Well, we have the best people playing them in "Matilda the Musical"!

Danielle Rothe (Mrs. Wormwood) This is Danielle’s third time on stage with MST. Some of the roles she’s played in the past include Katherine Blake in “Freaky Friday”, Tanya in “Mamma Mia”, and Mrs. Squires in “Music Man”.

Andy Emmerich (Mr. Wormwood) This year marks Andy's 6th performance with Magical Starlight. After appearances as the scheming, murderous poacher Mr. Clayton in MST's 2019 production of "Tarzan" and as the slimy and intolerable Charlie Cowell in Little Mountain Community Theatre's "Music Man" last summer, Andy and his mustache are back for more nefarious perfidy - now with child endangerment! As always, he dedicates his performance to his eudaemonic wife Nancy.

Mrs. Phelps helps fuel Matilda's love of reading a Mrs. Phelps helps fuel Matilda's love of reading and storytelling in "Matilda the Musical". Gretchen Gannon and Lynn Hodak delight audiences with their performances -- children can also join Mrs. Phelps for a 5 minute story time during intermission!

Gretchen is thrilled to be back on MST's stage. “It has been my great pleasure to work with Magical Starlight Theatre (MST) in incorporating my language (American Sign Language) to the community to expand the score of Matilda/Roald Dahl and be
accessible to both the general population and the Deaf community,” Gannon said. “Through interpreters, I’ve been in the loop at all times with whatever is going on at each moment, which has helped me in nailing down my character and expanding the show in each of my scenes. Additionally, two other characters will be doing some signing when they are on stage with me to make it more realistic. I cannot wait to bring this new production with this additional layer to the story." Gretchen's past credits include Dolly Tate in "Annie Get Your Gun", Dolores Dumpry in "Murder Me Always", Jessie in "Children of Lesser God", Gertrude in "Hamlet's Dreams", Mrs. Sowerberry in "Oliver", Stewardess/Ensemble in "Addams Family: The Musical", Wicked Witch/Miss Gulch/Brush Up Girl/Ensemble in "Wizard of Oz".

Lynn has been involved with MST in some capacity - performer, production, audience member or parent - for over 20 years. Her favorite roles include General Schmitz (Seussical) and Miss Lark (Mary Poppins. By day, Lynn is one of 350,000 people working with her husband and daughter – and the BEST team that brings her joy and support to do this at night! "I adore doing this show with some of my best mates! Enjoy the show!" Lynn says.
